The long-awaited, much-anticipated sixth season of Project Runway finally has a release date. The premier will air on August 20 on the show’s new home – Lifetime. (I just died a little on the inside. I’ve managed to go my entire life without ever watching Lifetime. Now, at 32, my streak is over.)
Now, you’ll have to excuse me. I’ve only got 41 days to figure out which channel Lifetime is.
Well, it’s unofficial. (As in, there’s been no official release but the fashion press is buzzing.) My favorite Project Runway alum Daniel Vosovic is launching his own line, scheduled to show in February 2010.
A look from Daniel Vosovic's Project Runway finale collection
The Cut recently spoke to Daniel about what we can expect from his namesake line and this is what the designer had to say about the look:
More hip, downtown. Jil Sander, Narciso Rodriguez. Very clean lines. My focus is jackets and coats — I love a good tailored piece, I love what it does for a woman’s body. A hint of athleticism. I don’t do a lot of frills.
Of course, he was also questioned about his pricing and said, “We’re aiming for the young-designer, contemporary price point. Like Alexander Wang, Philip Lim.”
(Read the whole interview here at The Cut.)
I, for one, can’t wait to see what Daniel’s collection looks like. I was consistently in awe of his beautiful but completely wearable designs during the entire second season of Project Runway and found myself in utter shock when he didn’t win. Daniel has a real sense of what looks good on women and I’m sure he’ll continue to impress. I’m on the edge of my proverbial fashion week front-row seat!
