I need it: Marc by Marc Jacobs tee

Marc (by Marc) Jacobs has done it again.  Every season I covet at least one of his tees.  How amazing is this whimsical owl design?

This tee ($88) would look so cute paired with a military-inspired jacket for fall.  Or wear it alone with skinny jeans and flats…  Or just buy it and have it shipped directly to Raleigh Fashionista Corporate Headquarters so I can wear it with with a military-inspired jacket or skinny jeans and flats!

I need it: Miu Miu dress

Indulge me if you will and step back into fantasy-land for a moment.

Everything about this Miu Miu dress ($2,075) is perfection.  The silhouette is basic, yet timeless and elegant.  The mosaic pattern is innovative and edgy.  The colors are bold but understated so as not to compete with the print.

Perfection.

I Need It: Mike and Chris sandals

Once again, cupid has shot an arrow in my direction.  This time, it was aimed right at my foot.  The Horatio Crisscross sandal from Mike and Chris ($320) is the perfect summer shoe for when you want a little height but don’t want to come across as overdressed or trying too hard – which can sometimes be the case with heels in warm weather.

This shoe is pretty much perfect in every way.  The neutral color, the woven straps, the mid-height heel…  I could wax poetic about it all day long.  But I won’t.  Instead, I think I’ll just go buy it!

Psst… Hey fellow Raleigh-area residents – if you’re interested in shopping local, I do believe that Monkee’s at North Hills has this shoe in stock!

I Need It: Vince silk camisole

This is exactly the type of clothes I live in every summer.  The Vince medallion print silk twill camisole ($195) is perfect in every way.  Let’s start with the obvious.  The contrasting colors?  Perfect.  The Art-Deco inspired print?  Perfect.

It also has details like adjustable straps and a smocked elastic panel in the back which can make a huge difference when it comes to fit.  And with flimsy summer camis like this, a good fit can often be the difference between a “G” rating and a peep show.

I’d wear this with either a pair of jeans and embellished flip flops for a casual look or with slim bermuda shorts and flat strappy sandals to up the polished factor.

I Need It: Marc by Marc Jacobs Feather Tee

I know, I know.  I just posted an “I Need It” last Thursday.  So while this may come across as greedy, I couldn’t resist featuring this gorgeous MbMJ tee ($88).  I do so love a unique t-shirt and this one ticks all the boxes.

The whimsical feather motif is casual but the metallic accents and wide neckline give it a more fashion-forward feel.  And that coral color is to die for!  But it’s also available in Stingray Grey and Key Lime from Shopbop if that’s more your speed.

I Need It: Alice + Olivia silk dress

Well, I’m in love again.  And this time, it’s with a dress.  I guess the 65 degree temps in Raleigh today have gotten me gearing up for spring.  This Alice + Olivia silk dress ($375) needs to be in my closet now.

And since I’ve been missing London lately, I’ll imagine myself wearing this to high tea at Fortnum & Mason on a gorgeous May day.  And even if London skies were grey, this floral print would never fail to cheer me up.

I Need It: Marc by Marc Jacobs top

I fell in love with a top.  More specifically, I fell in love with the Cecelia knit wool top from Marc by Marc Jacobs ($280).  I can’t really put into words what makes this piece so special.

Maybe it’s the understated grey wool combined with the gorgeous draping.

Maybe it’s that the detail in the back is as beautiful as the front.

I don’t know.  But I know I need it.  My birthday is coming up next month.  Perhaps my readers would consider taking up a collection?
